I always like to involve the population of the game in the planning/writing of a policy. Today I started to draft a policy for Userspace and how they can and can't be used (we've hit that point where it becomes necessary). So far, I've worked on an outline, but would like to give y'all a chance to give some feedback and make suggestions.

So, here's the outline.

  • Appropriate Use
    • Agendas
    • Essays
    • Drafting Boards/Testing Areas
    • Link Lists
    • Personal Project Lists/Planning Space
    • Other items that BENEFIT the Wiki
  • Inappropriate Use
    • Defamation, attack ect against any group, race, creed, or individual.
    • Creation of Clubs, RPs, ect
    • Fanfiction (Warriors Fan Fiction Wiki Gives a better place to keep such things.)
    • Any page for strictly personal use, that does not benefit the Wiki
    • Pages with no benefit to the Wiki
  • User Subpage Delete Policy
    • Express System, 24 hour warning before delete (No need to AfD User Subpage Stuff)
  • Disclaimer placing the final calls about acceptable content in the hands of the Wiki Staff.
    • Mention that anything in violation of the Wikia TOS will not be tolerated.

From this, I'll be drafting the final policy that will be voted on (as all other policies have been) and put into effect.

Do you consider FanFiction to fit under "Appropriate" or "Inappropriate"? *swifty* 14:17, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, FanFics could be moved to the Warriors FanFic wiki. Eu(Talk!Contribs) 14:27, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
I think the very existence of the Warriors Fan Fiction Wiki renders fanfiction completely inappropriate for this Wiki. I'll add fanfiction to the list for inappropriate.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:26, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
I think that each user should be able to keep at least one subpage that doesn't benefit the WWiki. We're allowed to have one useless user page picture, so why not one useless subpage? It would make things more enjoyable for users if they had something fun to work on (not that the WWiki isn't fun). As long as it doesn't go against rules one, two, three, and four of the "Inappropriate" section, or against Wikia rules, I think that it should be ok. Your thoughts?--Eu(Talk!Contribs) 14:16, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't think a suppage is a good idea for non-contributive stuff. I think a model more akin to the way I'm doing it is better. The non-Warriors Related Image is in there so that users can put a picture more telling about themselves in Charcat templates or on their page. You'll notice that I keep a fairly decent amount of personal stuff right on my main userpage. Personal/fun things would likely be best relegated to the individuals main userpage and, much like I do it, most of their working items can easily be stored on various other pages for better organization and usage. Encouraging a Free-use Userspace page sounds like a violation of Warriors Wiki is NOT (not yet ratified, but getting closer every day), in that it would be providing webspace for the user. The image at least is there to aide in personal profile creation and the like. I'm open to discussion, but it seems like the personal page (if this is the way people want to go) would need to be clearly tagged and we'll need to find a way to accurately patrol this.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 14:28, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Another thing I thought of is a subpage for the user's userboxes, like User:Eulalia459678/Userboxes. What would this be classified under?--Eulalia(Talk!Contribs) 21:30, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
